Use this guide when the organization you want to connect uses Fiken and should synchronize with Kogniflow through API.
Before you start
Confirm the following:
- The organization will use API synchronization
- The organization you are connecting uses Fiken
- The API add-on is enabled for the company in Fiken
Setup flow
1. Open the organization setup in Kogniflow
Go to the organization you want to connect and choose API as the synchronization method.
2. Select Fiken as the provider
When Kogniflow asks for the accounting provider, choose Fiken.
3. Authorize the user with Fiken
When you choose Fiken, you are sent to Fiken to authorize the user through OAuth. In this step you approve that Kogniflow can fetch data from Fiken, and you choose which companies Kogniflow should have access to.
4. Select the company to synchronize
After the Kogniflow app has been approved, choose which company should be synchronized with Kogniflow.
5. Wait for the first data synchronization
Once the company has been selected, the data synchronization starts automatically. This can take a little while depending on how many years of data and how many transactions need to be imported.
When the synchronization is complete, you can continue with control work, follow-up, and analysis in Kogniflow.

Troubleshooting
If you do not see the company after authorizing Kogniflow
If the company does not appear after you approve Kogniflow in Fiken, it is usually caused by one of these:
- The API add-on is not enabled for the company in Fiken
- The company has not been added to the list of approved companies for the Kogniflow app
To check this in Fiken:
- Open Fiken
- Go to Edit account
- Open Security
- Find Apps you have granted access to
- Open the existing Kogniflow app and add the companies that should be available
After the company has been added there, go back to Kogniflow and try the setup again.
